As you are probably aware, there are increasing concerns across the UK regarding radicalisation and extremism. Welshpool Church in Wales Primary School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all its pupils. Every member of staff recognises that safeguarding against radicalisation and extremism is no different from safeguarding against any other vulnerability in today's society. The policy below sets out our beliefs, strategies and procedures to protect vulnerable individuals from being radicalised or exposed to extremist views, by identifying who they are and promptly providing them with support.
Through our Healthy Schools planning and through our whole school values system, pupils are taught about having respect for all; respecting our community, ourselves and our country. Pupils are taught at an age appropriate level about anti-slavery, Children's Rights and about tolerance for all cultures, their beliefs and traditions.
