planning in the moment
As part of the new Curriculum for Wales, we will be following 'Planning in the Moment'. Planning in the moment allows children to lead their own learning according to their interests. They will have opportunities to develop and consolidate their skills within an engaging environment. This child-led approach allows high quality adult-led interactions both indoors and outdoors.
Our Planning in the Moment will take place in the afternoons. During our morning sessions we will be introducing the children to a range of different skills across all areas of learning. These skills will be modelled and practised through stimulating and engaging activities which will always have a Maths or a Language focus.

🍂🍁Autumn Term 2022🍁🍂
During the Autumn Term we will be following our School Values as a starting point to our learning.
🎁🎄🎅it's beginning to look a lot like christmas!🎅🎄🎁

our toy stall
We would like to say a massive THANK YOU, to all of the people who donated toys for our stall at the Christmas Fayre. The evening was a huge success and we managed to raise lots of money for our class. The total is yet to be confirmed!
🌹 remembrance day 🌹
On Friday 11th November 2022 the Reception/Year 1 class took part in a 2-minute silence during Worship. We then went back to class and listened to a PowerPoint Presentation to learn about Remembrance Day. We spent the morning making poppies to remember those that had fallen.

➗✖➖➕Numicon➕➖✖➗
Numicon is an approach to teaching maths that helps your child to see connections between numbers. It supports your child as they learn early maths skills in nursery and primary school. It is a multi-sensory way of learning, which means your child learns by seeing and feeling. Please click on the link below to find out more about how you can use Numicon at home to support your child's learning!

DEAF AWARENESS WEEK 4.5.22
Spring term 2022
Over the course of the Spring Term 2022 we will cover a wide range of skills through the following books and festivals.
MEETING YET AND DOT - GROWTH MINDSET
The children in R/1 BW have learned to become Yeti keepers! Last week we welcomed two yetis named Yet and Dot to our class. The children spent the week helping Yet and Dot to feel at home by making them a 'Yeti Cave' and showing them all of the areas in our classroom. Yet and Dot will be teaching the children to keep trying and persevere with their learning even when they might be struggling. The Growth Mindset programme will help to enable every child to feel like a successful learner, no matter their challenges or abilities. We aim to develop a positive ethos to carry forward for the rest of their education.
📦⭐📦DECONSTRUCTED ROLE PLAY📦⭐📦
We are very proud to be introducing the children to a deconstructed role play approach.
Deconstructed role play allows children to fully engage in the experiences without there being limitations placed on their imaginations. It creates a language rich learning space where children can interact with one another sharing ideas and developing their own play scenarios. Children can make sense of the world around them by exploring and investigating things that are current, relevant and interests them.

Happy valentine's day!
Reception and Year 1 enjoyed listening to the story of 'The Invisible String.' They learned about the unbreakable connection of love between people all around the world. The children spent the day making their own hearts using pipe cleaners and beads. They kept one heart for themselves and gave the other heart to someone they felt they share an invisible string of love with. The children also made some beautiful Valentine's Day cards!
religious education
The children have been busy learning about the church in our Religious Education lessons. Reverend Rob sent us a brilliant video of the Baptist Church in Welshpool. The children enjoyed learning about what is inside a church and what all of the different things are used for.
