Investigating kites!
We found out all about forces and then used our knowledge to generate investigation questions about kites. Look at our learning journey to see what we did!

Adventures in Nature
We have been working with Arts Connection to explore 'Fire' as part of our 'Elements' topic. We have had lots of fantastic experiences, take a look at what we did each session, thank you Seren and Arts Connection!
Some of the things we've done before! |
St Mary's Church Detectives!
34TP visited St Mary's church to be artefact detectives! We've been challenged to make a presentation about the special objects and places in St Mary's church so we had to gather lots of evidence to help us. What objects can you see us finding out about? Where do you think is the most important part of the church? And what do you think is the most important thing in a church? A big thank you to Reverend Steve for helping us and answering our questions. Now we need to get busy using what we found out to make our presentations!
What a Morning: two visits in one day!
3/4TL visited our new school site AND Welshpool library today; we certainly walked more than a mile a day! Take a look at our pictures, what parts of our new school can you spot? Can you see us learning how to use the library? Thank you to everyone we met who answered all our questions brilliantly!
Roman Adventure in Wroxeter!
What did the Romans ever do for us? 3/4TL went to Wroxeter Roman City near Shrewsbury to find out!
We experienced a Roman bath house (complete with an olive oil massage), explored Roman artefacts in the museum, visited a Roman town house, made Roman coins, cleaned the hypocaust system just like Roman child slaves would have done and found out more about Roman toilets...sponge on a stick anyone?!
Take a look at our photos, what activities can you spot us doing?

Science to the rescue!
Year 3 and 4 received an email from some scientists asking for their help! The scientists are recreating a Victorian exploration mission to Alert in Canada but...they're having trouble keeping their drinks warm! They challenged us to see which materials from their ship would keep their drinks warmest for longest. We designed a fair test to see if cotton wool, bubble wrap, tin foil, paper or polythene would help. What do you think our results showed?
Healthy Schools Week

Top science researching with added drama!
We have been busy researching the organs of the body. After becoming experts in either the brain, kidneys, stomach, lungs, intestines or heart, we wrote plays to explain our findings. Can you use our performances to find out the size, location and job of each organ? Scan the QR codes to see us in action!

Year 3 and 4 are writing their own newspaper style third person recounts. If you'd like to help your child you could look together at the First News newspaper or other newspapers you have at home. First News is a newspaper written especially for young people, you can find copies in supermarkets and newsagents, or you could visit the library to look at the copies they keep there or take a look at the First News website for online stories: www.firstnews.co.uk/. Ask your child what features of a newspaper they can see in the different stories and discuss the stories that interest them. They can always bring in their favourite stories to go on our English working wall!
"Read all about it!" Here are some of our awesome reports!
