Pupil Development Grant
The purpose of the Pupil Development Grant is to make a lasting impact on outcomes for disadvantaged learners. Evidence shows that high-quality early education is one of the most effective early intervention strategies to enhance a child's developmental outcomes, in particular language and cognitive development.
Schools are awarded a grant amount depending on the number of pupils who are eligible for free school meals. This grant money is used to plan interventions that focus on improving the attainment of pupils from deprived backgrounds including those who are eligible for free school meals.
